Introduced in 2020, the 2-person trekking tent belongs to the senior solutions of the Fjord Nansen brand. One of the features of the model is the external frame, which simplifies and speeds up the assembly process. Plus, it is possible to put up only an awning without an inner tent, for example, to hide from the scorching sun during a daytime halt.
Sturdy frame
Arcs with a diameter of 8.5 mm are made of durable aluminium alloy. Actually, they will take care of high wind resistance and overall reliability with a small weight of Fjord Nansen Rekvik II at 2.35 kg. Complete pegs for fixing braces here are also aluminium.
When assembled, the model boasts a symmetrical geometry with two vestibules 70 cm long each, mirrored entrances and a pair of ventilation valves under the dome. The bed here is of moderate size — 215x130 cm on the floor, which is enough to accommodate 2 sleeping pads or even inflatable tourist rugs. A metre-high ceiling, according to users, is enough to comfortably sit inside.
Like most analogues, the bedroom has mosquito nets, pockets for placing small things and an eye for hanging a lantern.
Wear resistant fabrics
The nylon bottom of the tent is ready for both simply high humidity and rainy weather, since its waterproof parameters reach 6000 mm of water column. The outer and inner tarpaulins are also made of nylon, which received reinforced corners and a ripstop weave that increases tear resistance. But the level of protection against moisture is lower here — up to 3000 mm, so it is recommended to operate the tent mainly in dry weather or with light precipitation.
Another disadvantage of the model is the high cost compared to the main competitors. But for easy-goers, that is, ardent fans of the minimum weight of tourist equipment, this should definitely not become an obstacle.
