The Epiphone EJ200CE electro-acoustic guitar is an official replica of the legendary Gibson J200 model, invented in 1937, and on which such eminent musicians as Buddy Holly, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley and others managed to play in their time. So, you can safely rely on the EJ200CE. It was made in the best traditions of the guitar business, but with the use of modern technologies that make it possible to reduce the cost of the instrument without loss of quality.
Housing and materials
A jumbo-style body with a selected maple back and sides and a solid spruce top is able to produce a more voluminous, deep and massive sound than a regular dreadnought. Maple is characterized by a strong bright attack with a dense high middle and cutting highs. But the bottoms of it are read worse, but the matter is fixable with the help of equalization.
Mechanics and electronics
The eSonic2 preamp features a 3-band EQ for rich tonal tone and a handy tuner that lets you tune your guitar without the need for a plug-in.
Of note are the high quality Grover tuners, thanks to which it is possible to achieve very effective intonation and reliable tuning, as well as D'addario 12-53 strings installed from the factory.
Appearance and decoration
The fret markers on the rosewood fingerboard are shaped like a crown. The bridge and pickguard are embellished in a similar style, so that the overall effect of the inlay is impressive.
The guitar is offered in 4 colours: Black (BK), Natural (NA), Vintage Sunburst (VS).
The EJ200CE is a worthy legacy of Gibson's legendary J200. Of course, there is a difference in sound between models, but the price, build quality and excellent appearance of Epiphone compensate for this slight drawback. But the branded cover, all the same, is not enough.
