A guest from the Celestial Empire Edon MIG-280 is classified as an inverter-type welding machine, engaged in welding metal parts and workpieces both in manual (MMA) and semi-automatic (MIG) modes.
Ease of handling
The device “cooks” with direct current from 20 to 280 A, using either consumable electrodes with a diameter of 1.6-5 mm, or an electrode wire up to 1 mm in a shielding gas environment and without it. Switching between welding modes is carried out simply by setting the two-position lever on the front panel of the device to the required position. Also on it you can see the rotary knobs for changing the wire feed speed and smooth adjustment of the welding current.
Helper functions
The Edon MIG-280 is armed with a number of assistant functions in obtaining a high-quality result: hot start, arc force (Arc Force) and anti-Stick. Together with the “straight hands” of the plant operator, all of them are aimed at creating a truly first-class weld without spattering sparks and sticking of the electrode.
Additional assets
Additional assets of the device include a Euro connector for connecting a sleeve (not included in the delivery) and internal clamps for changing polarity in case you want to use flux-cored welded wire. They regretted equipping the model with a screen. However, an experienced welder can easily determine the required current strength to solve a particular problem “by eye”. Well, the beginner will have to rely on the welding current adjustment scale framed by the corresponding knob when looking at the device in full face.
