Good construction rangefinder
The DeWALT DW033 rangefinder is a basic professional class instrument. It is designed to work not in the workshop, but at the construction site, and this is noticeable at first sight. The device captivates with its quality factor. The body in the form of a parallelepiped with slightly rounded edges looks massive, but the rangefinder is no heavier than analogue devices. Embossed inserts on the side edges provide a comfortable grip. Below the display is a single button with which you can turn on the device and switch between operating modes. One-button control is a huge plus, because it is impossible to poke small buttons in work gloves. The case is made of impact-resistant plastic, so even a fall on concrete (from a height of about a metre) will not affect its performance.
Not without cons
This rangefinder is far from the "coolest" among the DeWALT laser measuring instruments, because its accuracy leaves much to be desired. The error (reaching 3 mm), however, is acceptable when performing many types of construction work.
In terms of battery life, it is also not among the best. From two AAA batteries, it is possible to “squeeze out” only 3000 measurements (the best laser rangefinders from the same batteries “squeeze out” 10,000 measurements or more). But the slightly increased "gluttony" of the device is not the reason why you can refuse to buy it.
Maximum reliability
In terms of price and quality, the DeWALT DW033 is one of the best laser rangefinders for builders. It can be safely recommended to those who love a simple, solid and reliable tool. But if measurement accuracy is a matter of principle, then it is better to buy DeWALT DW03050, which, however, is almost twice as expensive.
