Compact and powerful 3-position screwdriver
The DeWALT DCD796D2 screwdriver has three modes of operation: twisting, drilling and drilling with impact. Despite the solid (by the standards of a cordless tool) power, you should not constantly use the impact mode. This function is useful if you need to make a hole in aerated concrete or masonry, but it is still not the main one. If you already have an impact drill, then it is better to buy the exact same DeWALT DCD791D2 screwdriver, but without impact mode.
Switching between operating modes is carried out using the slider. It has two fixed positions: for twisting and unscrewing fasteners and for drilling. Impact mode is activated at both speeds. The second slider controls the direction of rotation of the chuck. The force adjustment sleeve has 14 positions — this allows you to fine-tune the screwdriver to work with materials of different densities.

The DeWALT DCD796D2 screwdriver is equipped with a brushless motor. It is more reliable than a conventional brushed motor and consumes less energy. Torque is transmitted to the chuck via an all-metal planetary gearbox.
The cartridge is also metal, quick-clamping. With the DeWALT DCD796D2 screwdriver, you can use hex bits and drills with a diameter of 1.5 mm to 13 mm. Thanks to the carbide inserts on the jaws, the tooling in the chuck is clamped very firmly.
Ergonomic design with user care
The rubberized handles of the tool provide a comfortable and secure grip in any position. On the case there is a magnetic bit holder for equipment and a metal clip for hanging the screwdriver on a belt. In the lower part of the case there is a key for switching the operating modes of the built-in LED backlight (two gradations of brightness of the working backlight plus a bright flashlight mode).
