When I bought this hub, I thought it could only handle a mouse and joystick properly, but over time, I've found it to be much more convenient. Although it's hard to impress anyone nowadays with just four USB-A 3.2 ports without individual control, the advantage of these ports is the optimal spacing between them, which allows them all to be used simultaneously. For instance, two USB flash drives fit comfortably into adjacent ports (this wasn't possible with my laptop), and there are still free slots for connecting other peripherals (in my case, a USB mouse and joystick). Interestingly, the Defender Quadro Express has a 2.5mm input for connecting an external power source, which theoretically allows making this hub active, but such a power supply is not available for sale. Additionally, this hub allows charging other devices from a powered-off laptop (in this case, the output current is 0.9A, provided the hub itself is connected to a USB 3.1 port or higher on the laptop). Ease of connection, number of ports, convenient port placement, ability to work with high-speed external drives without losing speed The actual lack of necessity for an external power block connector (they are not available for sale), the requirement to connect the hub exclusively to a data transmission port; if the Defender Quadro Express is connected to a multifunctional port of a laptop, it will drain the battery at a rate of 15% per day, even if the laptop is not used. |
