Additional features flash Canon Speedlite 430EX:
Optimum lighting range
The flash zoom ranges from 24mm to 105mm, and the built-in diffuser panel provides wide coverage even at a guide number of less than 14mm. When connected to EOS-series cameras with non-full-frame sensors (such as the EOS-1D Mark II N, EOS 20D, and EOS 350D), the Speedlite 430EX will automatically recognize the model it is connected to and dim the lighting angle accordingly. This ensures optimal illumination of objects when shooting. In addition, it avoids light scattering at the periphery and extends the effective illumination range.
Perfect white balance
Colour temperature information is automatically transferred from the Speedlite 430EX to the latest digital SLR cameras1. Then, according to the data received, the camera sets the optimal white balance for shooting with flash. This function is available in auto white balance (AWB) mode or flash white balance mode.
E-TTL II
The Speedlite 430EX is fully compatible with the E-TTL II distance based system. This system is found on the latest EOS cameras. If necessary, this flash can be used on other EOS cameras without the E-TTL II system. The Speedlite 430EX is a sophisticated, feature-packed system with wireless capability. It can be used as an auxiliary flash when the main flash is Speedlite 580EX, Macro Ring Flash MR-14EX, Macro Twin Flash MT-24EX, or Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2
Advanced Management Features
The clear and ergonomic interface features an LCD panel that clearly shows all modes and settings. A special button allows you to adjust and fix the position of the head when shooting in reflected light. The flash head can rotate up 0 – 90 degrees (5 settings), left 0 – 180 degrees (7 settings), and right 0 – 90 degrees (4 settings). Customizing the function operations is done with 6 Custom Functions. Despite its high power and short recycle time, this flash has a compact design and light weight.
