Expensive but worth it

The hob belongs to the Serie 8 (premium) series, the devices of which are distinguished by high manufacturability and the same high price tag. Bosch PXX 875 D67E, of course, not everyone can afford, but working with such a “smart” device is a pleasure. The panel is made of glass-ceramic, which is easy to clean and resistant to high temperatures, and contains four oval inductors that form a free FlexInduction heating zone. This means that you can use the burners separately or combine them to accommodate cookware with a diameter of 8 to 30 cm and an elongated shape up to 40 cm long. Simply put, you get a large broiler and the ability to place any cookware anywhere, while only activating required area. The power of the heating zones is 2.2 kW, but the PowerBoost function can increase these figures for accelerated heating or boiling of water. And the PanBoost mode is useful when frying, for example, a steak. It automatically switches to maximum power and helps to heat the pan to the required temperature in just 30 seconds.

Convenient and DirectSelect Premium control panel, which is located in front of the burners. All 17 power levels are lined up in one line, so the necessary settings are set with one touch. When the panel is turned off, the light indication goes out, when turned on, only those functions that can be activated at the moment are highlighted.

But, perhaps, the main feature of the model is the presence of a built-in ventilation module. That is, the hood is located directly in the panel, it contains a grease filter and a liquid collector (they can be washed in a dishwasher) and saves you from unpleasant odours and splashes. The fan operates in extraction or circulation mode, when the air passes through the filter, is cleaned and returned to the outside. In addition, the hood has the same flexible settings as the heating zones, including different modes of intensity and noise level for greater productivity or, conversely, comfortable work. It turns on manually or automatically, taking into account the heating stage, and works for some time after turning off the device in order to completely get rid of fumes.

Smart Features

Bosch keeps up with the times, so even hobs become “smart”. First of all, it automatically detects the pan and activates the burner below it, so you only need to set the power. If the material of the cookware is not suitable for the induction cooker, the burner will turn off after 20 seconds. The function of automatic transfer of settings is also interesting: when you move the pan, the set parameters are transferred to another burner. In case of unforeseen situations (if something spilled onto the surface), you can pause the process and lock the panel for 30 seconds, and the ReStart function stores the last settings and offers them after switching on.

In addition, the device is part of the smart home ecosystem, that is, it can be controlled remotely via a smartphone or tablet. For example, the panel itself will make coffee while you return home from work. For remote monitoring, you need to install the Home Connect app.

Won't burn or break

The hob allows you to cook not only quickly, but also safely. So, the child mode blocks the panel, protecting it from unwanted activation. To prevent the food from burning, you can use a stopwatch, a regular household timer that beeps, or a timer that will turn off the burner after the set time has elapsed. The main switch turns off all zones with one movement, and after a certain time, being in an inactive state, the device automatically turns off. After switching off, the residual heat indicator indicates areas that have not yet cooled down so that you do not accidentally touch them.
