The sleek black Biol 2408P pan is made from die-cast aluminium. Such a material retains its heat-conducting properties and resistance to deformation. Cast pans are heavier than forged and stamped products, but they are more reliable and last longer. The pan weighs 880 g — the average value for pans, but a bit too much for a pancake model, your hand may get tired.
Flipping pancakes in flight
The model from Biol has a standard diameter for pancake pans — 24 cm and a Teflon coating. The multi-layered bottom accumulates and evenly distributes heat — the whole pancake is fried at the same time. Thanks to the non-stick Teflon coating, which is applied by spraying, pancakes can be fried without oil.
The manufacturer claims that the coating is resistant to any kind of influence — chemical and mechanical. But in fact, if you run a sharp metal over a Teflon surface, scratches may remain on it. If you carefully handle the coating, do not clean with abrasives and do not overheat, then Teflon lasts at least a year.
The handle of the frying pan is made of Bakelite. This material is durable, resistant to acids, does not conduct electricity and is a good heat insulator — so the handle does not heat up during frying.
Biol 2408P is affordable and compatible with different heat sources — it can be used on electric, gas and glass-ceramic stoves. This model is not suitable for induction cookers.
