Model overview based on user reviews
The Asus Xonar AE sound card is highly praised for its excellent sound quality and affordable price. Users note a significant improvement in audio performance compared to integrated solutions like Realtek, with one reviewer highlighting a 50% better sound experience when paired with Razer Kraken headphones. Although not considered true Hi-Fi, the card delivers impressive audio, especially for music, with clear cymbals and deep bass. The card features a C-Media processor and an ESS Operational Amplifier, which contribute to its superior performance. It comes with a 3-year warranty, adding to its reliability. While some users suggest pairing it with higher impedance headphones for optimal results, the overall consensus is that the Asus Xonar AE offers a remarkable price-to-quality ratio, making it a recommended choice for enhancing PC audio.

great model, I really liked it

My first sound card. At home, I listen to music on the good old Technics. In the car, everything’s great too - WV Passat B7. Guys, I didn't expect the sound on a PC to be this cool!!! I bought my first computer in 2001. Since then, upgrades, laptops, etc., etc. The sound never bothered or disappointed me, even on simple budget speakers. This September, I built a mid-range setup in my opinion - ASUS TUF Gaming B450 with Realtek 1200. I didn't like the sound immediately. I bought inexpensive but well-reviewed Edifier R1580MB speakers. The sound started to make some sense. But it was not great.
Today, I received the ASUS Xonar AE sound card. Installed it. Downloaded the drivers from the official site and was blown away by how home computer sound can be!!!! Hooked up the old 5W speakers as rear ones and was amazed.
I recommend this card. Price-quality 100 out of 100!!!
Sound quality. Price.
The first day after the purchase. Until I managed to connect the headphones.

The model is good, but I wouldn't call it HI-FI.
I used the Realtek ALC1220 + Razer Kraken Tournament, which is not the cheapest solution. But this card with the "Krakens" sounds better by about 50%. However, it is definitely not HI-FI. I think that for true HI-FI sound, you need a card with an amplifier at 250 Ohm and headphones for 10-15k RUB.
It has no drawbacks. I can note that with real music headphones, the card would work even better. "Kraken" is not the best option for music, its impedance is quite low. I would replace them with AKG K612 PRO or Audio-Technica ATH-ANC700BT.

I recommend. RESPECT and RESPECT TO ASUS

The card is simply superb. Truly Hi-Fi. I haven't tried it in games, but when playing music, it's just a marvel. Unlike integrated Realtecs, when playing music, the cymbals really sound like "Tzing" instead of "Ch", and the bass sounds like "Boom" instead of "Ph". The truth is, inside the card, there's almost nothing from Asus, the processor is from C-Media, and the Operational Amplifier is from ESS. Maybe that's even better. I had an Asus DS card, but after 2 years, it gradually broke down - one channel went out of order. This card comes with a 3-year warranty.
3. 3 years full warranty
So far no deficiencies found
