ASUS VivoBook Pro M580GD is a stylish and practical machine that will suit many purposes, from office work and music writing, to video games and graphics work. The latter option is especially interesting, since the laptop has a 4K display with high detail, which is atypical for this class.

Stylish and lightweight aluminium body

In terms of design, the M580GD differs little from other VivoBook models: the base is made of aluminium with vertical polishing, inside the plastic is “aluminium-like”. Externally, the laptop makes a very pleasant impression, which, combined with its thinness, lightness, and strict design, confirms its versatility.

Core i5 + GeForce GTX 1050

Inside the laptop are a mid-range quad-core Core i5 processor with a turbo boost up to 4 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, a bunch of SSD and HDD with a total volume of 1128 GB and last year's hit, a GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card with 4 GB of video memory. A year ago, this was the standard hardware for a decent gaming laptop. Since then, the requirements have grown, but even now it is a very performant system. Moreover, we are talking about a work laptop, not a gaming laptop. The filling also has a minus — the coolers do not have time to remove all the heat, which is why during games with heavy tasks the case heats up decently, and the processor starts to drop frequencies.

Fast charging and sound from Harman Kardon

Of the additional goodies, we note fast charging, a fingerprint scanner, keyboard backlight and speakers from Harman Kardon. They have excellent sound quality, but they lack headroom a bit. Also, the device cannot boast of battery life — after 2-3 hours the device already needs to be recharged. This is the reverse side of the graphics card and 4K screen. In principle, taking into account all the pluses and fast charging, this is not such a minus.
