The German-made model AEG KS 66-2 has established itself as a powerful performant power tool for large volumes of work. Immediately striking is the powerful 1600 W motor, which produces 5800 rpm. Thanks to this, the tool handles with high density wood (such as white locust, etc.). Unlike cheaper models, this one has a stamped 4 mm thick magnesium alloy sole that does not play and does not “walk” during cutting.

Thoughtful design

In the AEG KS 66-2 circular saw, the protective casing return system is well thought out: at the base of the spring there is a rubber (metal for most models), which softens the impact of the casing during return and makes less noise. Also, the case is equipped with a special holder for a hex key, so that it is always at hand. The circular saw cuts wood at an angle in the range up to 56 degrees (at 45 degrees up to 50 mm). Unfortunately, the design does not have a start button blocker, so it must be constantly pressed during operation.

Blowing sawdust from the workplace is carried out using a turbofan. This feature provides a good overview while sawing solid wood. And with the help of a built-in nozzle, all the sawdust can be sent directly to the dust collector. On the gearbox housing there is a connector for quick replacement of carbon brushes. It eliminates the need to spend time and money on a service centre. Some carpenters note that the AEG KS 66-2 circular saw lacks a soft start.
