AEG EWH 80 Universal EL provides more flexibility than simple boilers. The user has the right to either indicate the desired water heating temperature or entrust the device with water heating. In the first case, when the corresponding mode is activated, the water temperature is indicated in the range from 20 to 85°C. Frost protection is also available when the appliance is idle (temperature +7°C). But the advantage of this model is revealed in the use of three automatic modes.
Economy mode
If you want to have 80 liters of hot water at all times (at 60°C), the ECO Comfort mode will be useful. By the way, it is used by default. The ECO Plus scenario will help reduce energy consumption (and, therefore, waste of money). The heating is activated with every large hot water draw. As soon as 40% of the heated water is used up, the boiler automatically starts heating to replenish the supply. Well, when choosing the ECO Dynamic mode, the boiler “studies” during the week when and how much water is consumed. After that, it adapts to the daily routine of its owner.
Shower mode
When time to take a shower is running out, and there is no hot water, "Quick heating" comes in handy. In this mode, the boiler works with increased power (3 kW) in order to heat the water in the tank as soon as possible. When the required water temperature is reached (indicated in the settings), the device continues to operate with normal power (2 kW).
AEG's EWH 80 Universal EL tackles the scale problem with more than just an anode. The heating ceramic element is additionally protected from water by means of a bulb (the so-called "dry heating element"). Scale in this case settles on the flask, and not on the heating element. So for heating hard water, for example, in private houses with a well, this boiler is a completely rational option. It is convenient that if you need to repair or replace the heating element, then this will not require draining the water from the tank.
We also add that this model, made in Slovakia, has a longer warranty for the storage tank and "electronics" than many recognized competitors — 10 years and 3 years, respectively. This underlines the manufacturer's confidence in the quality of its product.
