Classic gaming laptop

Unlike expensive, powerful and fancy Acer Predator laptops, the Nitro family comes out with more mundane gaming equipment with correctly set priorities, balanced filling and democratic price tags. Visual aesthetics for them is in 26th place, so both old and new Nitro models may seem bulky and unsightly to some. But do not rush to swear, this was done on purpose to further strengthen the laptop case and painlessly place a normal cooling system that will prevent the laptop from overheating and constantly dropping frequencies during auto-overclocking, as is often the case with middle-class gaming laptops.

Optimal gaming graphics card

Inside the laptop, we will see a tenth generation 8-thread Core i5, 16 GB of RAM with a frequency increased to 2933 MHz and a bunch of drives with a total capacity of 1256 GB. Traditionally, the amount of RAM and internal storage can be expanded thanks to additional unsoldered slots. The “old man” GTX 1650 Ti with 4 GB of video memory is responsible for the performance in games, which, on the one hand, looks somewhat outdated against the backdrop of the NVIDIA Ampere family, on the other, it still drags at medium graphics settings and Full HD resolution. It can only be knocked down by next-gen games we haven't seen yet, and poorly optimized games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Deathloop.

Dim display

The Achilles' heel of our test build was the display. It's dim, not particularly responsive, and the refresh rate is limited to a base 60Hz. From the screen, which was created with a backlog for video games, I wanted at least 100 Hz. But everything else remained unchanged. The stock keyboard came out quite comfortable, so they just screwed on an RGB backlight with four zones and all sorts of lighting effects. Of the additional goodies, it is worth noting the presence of a gigabit Ethernet controller, a Wi-Fi 6 receiver and a built-in stereo system that handles well with watching movies and videos.
