The Acer Nitro gaming laptops have earned a reputation for being well-made gaming laptops with the right priorities and adequate price tags. These are old-school gaming machines that are not at all shy about their nature: thick bezels around the display, chopped body lines, aggressive air ducts, ventilation slots scattered throughout the body and an emphasis on classic black and red shades.

Perhaps they do not strive for inappropriate elegance at all. Thanks to this, the engineers were able to leave the desired thickness of the case, so that later they would not suffer with the cooling system. Plus, the hull itself is assembled like a tank, and you can hit it like that. The attention to detail is also pleasing: the WASD keys most in demand among gamers are additionally highlighted with edging, the keys are backlit, the touchpads are large and comfortable, the cooling is of high quality, and the dedicated LAN ports are gigabit. A special nod to Acer for spare M.2 and DDR4 slots. Gaming laptops with a DIY upgrade option have always been considered rare beasts.

At the beginning of 2021, the hardware configuration of the classic Acer Nitro is as follows: Core i5 with 4 physical and 4 virtual cores, 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB M.2 SSD. Although video cards do not break performance records, they give out their 60 FPS on “ultra” in most AAA games. Usually, these are models of the GeForce GTX 1660, RTX 2060 or RTX 3060 level. There are enough options with simpler video cores. But something more powerful is extremely rare, this is already the prerogative of the Acer Predator gaming line. The series is based on machines with 15-inch screens, 17-inch models are in the minority.
