Acer laptops have always been known for their excellent build quality and stylish performance, and the Acer Aspire 5 is no exception.
Design
The case is made of high-quality plastic, except for the working surface, which is made of metal. It is assembled quite qualitatively, but the lid flexes even from a slight pressure, which is typical of all laptops in this price segment.
The keyboard has an excellent course, you won't have to get used to it for a long time. There is no backlight, but even in low light the keyboard is readable. The trackpad is responsive and supports, in addition to Windows 10 gestures, the Microsoft Precision Touchpad protocol.
Screen
The matrix has a resolution of FullHD (1920x1080 pixels), is made using TN + film technology and displays 41% of the Adobe RGB and 55% sRGB colour gamut. The contrast ratio is quite low — 70:1, and the brightness is only 181 nits. Unfortunately, Acer had to sacrifice the display in order to achieve better technical equipment in conjunction with build quality.
Iron
Comes with a 2GHz Skylake generation Intel Core i3 6006U processor. The discrete graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 940MX with 2 GB of GDDR5 video memory is responsible for the video component. 2133MHz DDR4 RAM, 4GB pre-installed, expandable up to 32GB. The cooling system effectively handles with its task: it works quietly, and the processor does not get very hot.
The battery lasts 6-7 hours for office work, and up to 8 hours for video playback.
