bought for gaming, the sound is excellent. If you've been using cheap headphones and replacing them frequently, this is the perfect option to stick with for a long time. I bought these for gaming and music production; I liked the surround sound. In CS:GO, you can hear all the footsteps, even at the other end of the map. The powerful volume slider is handy when you need to step away from the computer briefly; you can turn the sound all the way up and go about your business with music playing. The bass performance is high quality. I'm also pleased with the long cable and its braided cover. Even after two years of use, the headphones are still in perfect condition. If you're not a kid constantly bending the cable at the plug and know how to take care of your stuff, they'll last a long time.
