Bloody sport

The A4Tech B885N Bloody is an example of an affordable gaming keyboard by gaming standards, which is never a shame. On the one hand, it turned out to be strong, comfortable and functional, on the other hand, it does not suffer at all from unsuccessful technical solutions or thoughtless savings. Its main feature lies in the optical-mechanical switches, which have become an intermediate link between inexpensive membrane models and classical mechanics, which must be generously paid for.

Proven Light Strike Opto-Mechanical Switches

She inherited a tasty price tag from membrane models, and high responsiveness of the keys (response rate of 0.2 ms), high response speed and extended service life from the mechanics. If the “mechanics” have a resource for working out one key is about 60 million keystrokes, then here we are promised all 100 million. For sure, the fact that both the frame, the case with the stand, and the keys themselves are made of metal will play on its durability. As for convenience, these are exactly the same Light Strike switches that have proven themselves well in other "flagship" keyboards from the company.

Simple RGB lighting

In addition to the standard keys, the manufacturer added a pair of programmable buttons M1 and M2, for which the length of the spacebar had to be slightly shortened. The decision is not indisputable, but in fact you get used to the shortened space quickly. There is an Fn key, which, in combination with other buttons, helps to control the player, volume and backlight. There is nothing unusual here. But what catches the eye is the unusual labeling of the buttons: both Cyrillic and English letters are applied almost back to back at the top of the keys. Again, this does not cause any discomfort, just unusual. But both symbols are transparent and are highlighted when the built-in illumination is turned on. The illumination itself is made without frills. The backlight is a full-fledged RGB with separate side zones (it looks spectacular), but without synchronization and zone lighting. You can only adjust its intensity and types of glow.
