Frequencies are higher, timings are lower

ADATA XPG Spectrix D60G is the latest series of DDR4 RAM from a Taiwanese company, which includes both individual modules of 8 or 16 GB, and paired sets of 16 or 32 GB with a frequency of 3000 to 4133 MHz and timings from CL16 to CL19. The main innovation was a radiator with an increased area of RGB-luminescence by means of a translucent diffuser.

You can customize the XPG Spectrix D60G backlight using both applications from motherboard manufacturers (MSI Mystic Light, ASUS Aura, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome), and ADATA's proprietary XPG RGB Sync App. It is the latter that provides advanced customization options, for example, you can separately specify a colour for each of the ten memory module LEDs (addressable backlight or ARGB), as well as activate colour change with an increase in processor temperature or to the beat of music.

However the height of the XPG Spectrix D60G memory strips, together with the heatsink, is almost 5 cm, which limits the installation of large tower CPU coolers. In order to avoid incompatibility, we advise you to choose a narrow tower or even dropsy. In addition, only a small part of the radiator is made of heat-conducting metal, and a large part is made of plastic. However, as practice shows, radiators are needed more for decoration than for cooling.

Overclocker's Choice

This is confirmed by the excellent overclocking potential of the ADATA XPG Spectrix D60G. Even the younger 3000 MHz version on Hynix C-die chips on motherboards with the Intel Z390 chipset easily overclocks to 3900 MHz. On motherboards with the AMD X570 chipset, the overclocking frequency will probably be somewhat lower — 3600 – 3733 MHz, which, incidentally, is also a very worthy result. And for those who like to play it safe, ADATA has better-cooled memory in its assortment: the metal XPG Spectrix D41 and the water-cooled XPG Spectrix D80.
