8BitDo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller

The flagship wireless controller from 8BitDo, released in 2026, advances the Ultimate lineup. Compared to the previous model, the manufacturer has revised nearly all key components—this is the brand's first gamepad where regular sticks with Hall sensors are replaced by more sensitive TMR sticks with a 12-bit ADC. This enhances positioning accuracy in the neutral zone and reduces power consumption while completely eliminating drift over time.

The triggers offer an innovative solution too— a mode switch allows selection between a linear analog motion with Hall sensors (for racing and simulators) and a short tactile click (for shooters). The 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller features a layout familiar to Nintendo Switch owners, and it's compatible with both the original console and Switch 2 after a firmware update, as well as with PCs on Windows 10 and above.

Besides the two standard bumpers, there are a couple of additional Fast Bumpers (L4/R4) on top that can be reassigned directly without entering a utility. At the back, there are two more programmable "paddle" buttons, making a total of 18 control elements. In Switch gaming mode, a 6-axis gyroscope is activated for gyro aiming. Each stick is surrounded by an RGB Fire Ring backlight with multiple lighting modes. A charging dock station is included right away: the controller is placed onto it after gaming and automatically reconnects when removed.
