Inexpensive on-camera flashes under the banner of the Chinese brand Yongnuo have won an army of fans among amateur photographers and photography enthusiasts. Model YN685 has everything you want to see on board a functional flash.

Yongnuo YN685 combines the charms of TTL device and radio under one wing in the YN-622C timing system. Thanks to the built-in receiver of this system, the flash does not need to be connected to an external receiver for remote control of the "ignition". We are talking here exclusively about the slave mode (Slave). Unfortunately, it cannot act as a leading flash.

Automation

The guide number of the model is 60, and the angle of the light it scatters is subject to change from a wide angle of 20 mm to a telephoto of 200 mm. With a retractable diffuser, the minimum focal length threshold is reduced to 16 mm. In addition to single pulses, the flash generates volleys in strobe mode. The additional assets of the model include autofocus illumination in the form of a laser grid in the centre of the frame. It will come in handy when focus in pitch darkness.

The mission of managing the shooting parameters is entrusted to the push-button-wheel panel with an informative display at the head. The device is powered by a quartet of "finger-type" batteries.
