The design of the Xiaomi Mi Earbuds Basic 2S headphones is almost identical to the Mi AirDots 3, but they have a more modest package and hardware. The kit includes 3 pairs of rubber ear tips of different sizes and a compact ergonomic case that fits even in a small pocket without any problems.

The case has an LED charge indication, a USB-C connector, but the cable itself is not included. The cover of the case has a slight play, but fixation on the magnet prevents accidental opening. Mi Earbuds Basic 2S is equipped with a Bluetooth 5.0 chip that provides improved data transfer speed and stability. A game mode has also appeared, minimizing audio delay when synchronizing with video.

Audibility is really good, but problems can arise near strong sound sources. Mi Earbuds Basic 2S is controlled by a multifunctional touch button, double-clicking on which calls up Google Assistant, Siri or XiaoAI. The batteries of the headphones will last for 4 hours of continuous use, and it will take 30 minutes to fully replenish the energy. Charging the case takes 1.5 hours, but this is enough for 5 full headphone cycles.
