Lighter and more compact than before
Updated in 2020, the Wahoo brand heart rate sensor is positioned as one of the lightest (48 grams with strap) and thin (12 mm) solutions on the market. Due to this, the model is designed to provide an increased level of comfort during operation.
The Wahoo TICKR itself has two blue and red LED indicators. The first reflects the status of the current connection, and the second blinks in time with the pulse. This, theoretically, can be useful, for example, when exercising on a treadmill or exercise bike in front of a mirror.
Monitor heart rate and calories burned
The heart rate sensor not only measures your heart rate, but also the number of calories burned during your workout. The corresponding indicators are recorded in the proprietary Wahoo Fitness application and can be sent to third-party fitness platforms. By the way, the list of supported sports services will not disappoint. It has over 50 apps, including Nike + Running, MapMyRun for running, or Peloton for cycling, for example.
Multi-format
With the Wahoo TICKR transmitting data via both Bluetooth and ANT+, the Wahoo TICKR is compatible with a variety of devices, including Apple smartphones (iOS 11 or later) and Apple Watch, Android devices with Bluetooth 4.0 and above, and also navigators and professional equipment.
By the way, via Bluetooth, up to 3 gadgets are connected to the sensor at once. But you will have to take at least one of them with you to class, because the device does not have built-in memory.
Convenient operation
The sensor is equipped with a soft strap, which, according to the manufacturer, comfortably and securely "sits" on the chest. Its length ranges from 58 to 122 cm. Water resistance corresponds to the IPX7 class, so that the device can be rinsed under running water after a workout and/or left in the shower. The battery reserve should be enough for 500 hours of sports, that is, no less than a year or a year and a half.
The Wahoo TICKR is a good and more affordable alternative to trusted brands like Garmin and Polar.
