Model overview based on user reviews
The Vityas PC-2900 chainsaw offers a 400 mm bar length and a powerful 2900W motor, although some users report the actual power feels closer to 1800W. It features a chain brake that works instantly, but there are concerns about its durability, as some users experienced frequent breakdowns. The saw is equipped with metal gears for durability, but the gearbox bearings may have a loose fit, causing noise during operation. The oil consumption is economical, and the chain is well-lubricated, with a visible oil level. However, the product may require disassembly and modification after purchase to address factory issues, such as loose screws and inadequate lubrication. Despite these challenges, the saw is capable of indoor use, although it produces significant sawdust. Overall, while the Vityas PC-2900 has potential, it may require additional adjustments for optimal performance.
Pros
Cons
Everything is made in China, and the so-called manufacturers just stick on labels. The power rating is often exaggerated in all Chinese-made products. They just added "only" 1100W to make it sell better. Supporting China's economy. I modified the chain stop lever with a file to prevent jamming. I reinforced the bearings with a C-shaped plastic strip in their sockets and adjusted the chain's drive sprocket with blade inserts, but the "cardboard box sound" didn't disappear, probably because of a vibrating torsion spring. There are no seals anywhere, so it's better to improve it right away. 1. The engine power is adequate if you press lightly. The engine is barely warm even though it's roughly 1600W. 2. The gearbox drive gear is detachable and not directly splined on the motor armature. 3. The gearbox has metal gears with straight teeth (for durability and efficiency). Bevel gears wear out quickly with a longitudinal engine arrangement. 4. The chain brake works instantly and is implemented with a torsion spring (it's cheap and easy to replace). 5. The bar is attached with studs, not bolts, and there are two studs, not one (no need to worry about threads in the body). 6. The drive sprocket is well hardened; a file won't affect it and becomes dull instead. 7. You can cut even indoors, but the sawdust flies around. 8. The oil level is clearly visible, and the filler neck is positioned vertically. The vacuum valve is on top of the cap. 9. There is a rubber seal for the bar oil hole both in the body and on the cap. In the first few minutes, it leaked 10-15 drops of oil. 10. The oil consumption is economical, and the chain is well lubricated. 11. There's an LED light to illuminate the work area in the dark. It turns on with the motor. 1. The actual engine power is not more than 1800W, the rotor winding is filled only to half the depth of the channels, even though 1800W is written on the rotor. An extension cord of 22 meters with a wire cross-section of 0.75 mm at an air temperature of +15 degrees Celsius does not burn out or heat up, which confirms that it does not have 2900W. 2. The gearbox bearings are not tightly fitted into the sockets, with a clearance of 0.5 mm, they rattle with a distinct knock on both planes. 3. From the factory, two small mechanism mounting screws for the chain stop are not tightened; if fully tightened, the rocker arm clamps to the body and it does not work. 4. From the factory, the emergency brake is very stiff or does not engage at all because the contact surfaces are at a very sharp angle (0-2 degrees). 5. The gearbox housing and tire mount are made of plastic. 6. The lubrication cover for the gearbox is of a semi-closed type, yet fine sawdust somehow penetrates the saw body. 7. From the factory, no lubrication was found on the teeth of the gearbox, only on the sides of the gears. 8. The drive sprocket on the shaft wobbles in all planes. About 10-15 degrees approximately. 9. During wood sawing, a characteristic "cardboard box sound" is heard, which causes concern that something might break. 10. From the factory, the working surfaces of the bar for the chain are at different heights (up to 0.5 mm) with small irregularities and bumps. 11. On the front (driven) sprocket, after sawing 3-4 cubic meters of wood, the rollers are completely worn out (with 0.5 mm play on the vertical plane). 12. The chain sharpens as easily as aluminum (although one sharpening sawed 3-5 cubic meters of wood). It also stretches quickly. |
Don’t take Bar Length The automatic chain stop breaks down three times in a month, followed by the drive gear of the oil pump. |
