VDO R5 GPS

The wireless bike computer from VDO can be classified as an advanced solution. It can interest demanding cyclists, including those who want to have access to advanced training data without complex installation and preliminary settings. Thus, instead of a wheel speed sensor, a built-in GPS module is provided to determine the speed and distance of rides, which means that installation is limited to fixing the head unit on the steering wheel or stem.

The VDO R5 GPS bike computer is equipped with a barometer that measures air pressure and, based on this information, determines descents and ascents, altitude above sea level, gradient (angle of the track), etc. Thanks to the support of ANT+ technology, it is possible to connect additional sensors to the model - cadence (to assess the pedaling frequency and the effectiveness of the training process), heart rate monitor (pulse control), etc.

To read the data, there is a 2.4-inch screen with backlight, three lines and an additional Blue Square indicator window (here, among other things, the presence of notifications on the smartphone can be shown). The device can also be connected to a PC, and thanks to the SIGMA RIDE mobile application, you can collect extended data on bike rides and even share statistics with friends (including through synchronization with popular online services, such as Srava). It is also worth highlighting the 550 mAh battery (provides about 25 hours of autonomy) and the water-resistant case according to the IPX7 standard.
