Lasts a long time, good batteries. I can't wait to see |
I use a mini UPS to power my router during power outages. The main task of this device is to keep the internet running during blackouts, and it performs well, provided that the provider in the building also has backup power. The key reason for choosing this particular model was the battery based on LiFePo4 technology. It's a more modern and reliable technology that handles charge-discharge cycles better and has a greater lifespan compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. The battery capacity is stated to be 20,000 mAh, and in real use, this is evident: in my case, with the UPS powering only the router, it lasted over 16 hours without power. Of course, the autonomy directly depends on the power consumption of the equipment - if you additionally connect a PON media converter, the operating time will be shorter. Switching from the grid to the battery happens seamlessly, the router doesn't restart, and the internet doesn't disappear even for a moment. On the downside, the output power is 18 W. For older or economical routers (I have Wi-Fi 5 and even disabled the 5 GHz network, leaving the 2.4 GHz for maximum runtime), this is sufficient, but modern models with Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 can easily exceed this limit, so you need to be careful when choosing. In conclusion, this is a successful solution specifically for maintaining internet access during blackouts, without unnecessary features and complexities, but with an emphasis on a reliable battery and stable performance. LiFePo4 with 20,000 capacity, can be used as a power bank, type-C and type-A, doesn't heat up while operating. Compact enough to hang on the wall. Official warranty from a Ukrainian manufacturer (though we understand it's a Chinese device with a Ukrainian company's branding). Very short DC-DC cable between the UPS and the router, 18W power for modern routers might be insufficient (especially if you also need to power a media converter). |
Connectors for Every Taste
The TriniX brand UPS stands out for its variety of interfaces to connect equipment—router, surveillance camera, media converter, modem, and other devices. It features one DC port with a switch for 12 or 9 V. USB A and Type C connectors are also available, allowing you to charge smartwatches and other compact modern gadgets. The set is complemented by a LAN port supporting POE technology, enabling both data and power transmission through a single Ethernet cable.
Informative Indicators
The uninterruptible power supply is rated for a nominal power of 18 W, which is typical for low-voltage systems. The model has a moderate weight (about 600 g) and compact dimensions (3.5×20.6×12 cm), making it easy to find its place and can be hidden from view if necessary. It is worth noting the simple but clear indication with seven LEDs. The package includes a power cable and a splitter for two DC connections.
The strengths of the solution include a high-capacity 20 Ah battery made with LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) technology. It is distinguished by its reliability and extended lifespan compared to lithium-ion batteries. However, the device's cost is also above average. Overall, the TriniX TRX-MUPS-1812 is an interesting option for a UPS with a capacious battery and a well-thought-out set of ports.

It works simply — plug it in and forget it. No manual switches, the router doesn’t even "notice" when the electricity goes out. For home use, this is very convenient. The battery lasts a long time, in my case, for many hours without power, and that pleasantly surprised me.
A very useful device for the home, especially when the power is out for ten hours. Easy to use, reliable, and provides peace of mind that the internet will be on during each blackout.
