Teac's mini-system seems to take us back a couple of decades, to the heyday and popularity of cassette players. But in fact, this is a convenient device with modern features for lovers of vintage recordings or those users who want to save recordings from old cassettes. The model is equipped with two cassette decks that can operate synchronously or independently of each other. For example, there is a sync start button for recording from one cassette to another. Or, on the contrary, you can turn on playback on one cassette and at the same time prepare the second for recording. Because both decks have independent drive sections for control, when one deck is playing (or recording), users can control the other deck: change tape, rewind recording, without affecting the operation of the first...deck. Teac W-1200 has a built-in noise reduction system that brings the sound quality of old cassettes recorded using Dolby B NR closer to the original. The pitch control allows you to change the playback speed, increasing or decreasing it up to 12%. The REC MUTE function allows you to erase unnecessary fragments and add pauses of 4 seconds or more between tracks. Thanks to the microphone input, you can arrange karaoke, mix sounds and record just your voice or vocals along with music onto a cassette. In addition, with a built-in A/D converter and rear USB output, users can digitally archive their cassette tape libraries at CD quality up to 48 kHz/16-bit, and then transfer these archives to a computer. The sampling rate and bit depth can be selected depending on the recording quality of the original tape. For control, the minisystem offers a convenient panel between the cassette decks and a remote control, which is included in the package.
