normal model, nothing special

It should be said right away that for its money, these speakers play very decently. The sound of the satellites comes out excessively bright due to the elevated high-frequency range, but this nuance is excellently addressed with the tone control knob. If you lean towards neutral shades, I recommend setting it slightly below the middle. Overall, the adjustment is quite deep, so the HF area here does not suffer at all. The satellites start to work effectively somewhere from 150 Hz. The subwoofer reaches around 40 Hz, but overall its frequency response looks peaky.

In conclusion, if you don't consider yourself overly picky about sound and need a simple yet functional system for home use, the SVEN MS-1820 will be quite a reasonable choice. For very modest money, this set can easily sound a small room, and additionally, you get FM radio and the ability to play tracks from a USB flash drive without a computer.

Light, loud, compact

Sven MS-1820 are inexpensive and compact class 2.1 speakers that can be easily placed both on the table and hide the subwoofer under the table. In this case, the speaker will be almost invisible, but well audible.

The model is presented in black and made of MDF with plastic inserts. Sven MS-1820 controls are located on the subwoofer's glossy front panel. On top of the panel there are bass and treble controls, below them there is a small LED display, which displays information about the track being listened to, the radio station (there is a built-in FM receiver) or shows the time.

Built-in player

Below is an SD card slot and a USB input for connecting a flash drive, allowing you to use the speakers separately from the computer. There is a phase inverter hole on the side, and the power button and connectors are displayed on the rear panel. Like the subwoofer, the front panel of the satellites has glossy inserts, and on their bottom there are rubber feet that dampen sound vibration and prevent the speakers from jumping on the table.

Convenient remote control

Externally, the system is assembled well, no traces of glue or notches are visible. The glossy control panel, which quickly collects fingerprints, and the combined rewind and volume buttons, which cause inconvenience at first use, spoiled the impression a little. However both the first and the second are solved by the remote control, which has all the necessary controls.

High maximum volume limit

The total power of the Sven MS-1820 is 40 W, standard for this class. For the money, the acoustics sound pretty decent. The satellites, despite their size, cover a decent range and match well with the subwoofer. I was pleased with the maximum volume limit with slight distortion. However at maximum volume, it is better to turn down the bass slightly so as not to overstrain the subwoofer.

In general, the Sven MS-1820 is a low-cost speaker system that does not pretend to special regalia and really works for its money ($40). It is quite suitable for family watching a movie, as well as for a visit from a neighbor who will come down to shake your hand for a wonderful taste in music at 2 am.
