The Steba SV 80 electric sous-vide heater can be called an improved version of the simpler "little brother" of the series. Externally, the device looks more massive and this is confirmed by its weight of 1.6 kg, due to the larger overall dimensions of 39x8x12 cm. In addition, the model received a more elegant handle design with a pleasant matte plastic, which does not leave marks when used. The end part of the handle, on which the display with touch buttons is located, is made with a slight bevel, which increases the size of the control panel. It does not have an adjustment dial, like the younger model, and all settings and actions are performed by 5 touch buttons, which, like the readings on the display, are highlighted in bright blue light. The IPX7 waterproof housing allows you to submerge the device in water without the slightest fear, and the side mount in the form of a large clothespin ensures that the device is securely held on the water tank.

Smartphone as a remote control

An adjustable thermostat provides precise temperature control from 0°C to 90°C, and a built-in auto-off timer allows you to set continuous cooking times up to several days. Prolonged cooking in vacuum packaging contributes to a better preservation of vitamins, minerals, original taste and aroma of products. The power of the tubular heating element of 800 W makes it possible to heat a 20 L container with water up to 56 °C in about 45 minutes with a temperature deviation in the process of less than 0.1 °C. Uniform distribution of temperature throughout the volume of the pan ensures the operation of the turbine blades, mixing water at a speed of 12 L / min. But the main advantage of the model is the built-in Wi-Fi module, with which the device can be controlled remotely. After downloading applications from the AppStore or GooglePlay, the user gets access to all the settings and functions of the device from a smartphone, which turns into a convenient remote control.
