Time-tested quality

Stanley has been making quality hand tools for over 183 years, and the Stanley STHM5KS fender is no exception. It uses an SDS Max chuck that can handle shanks over 18mm in diameter. In this case, the position of the chisel or peaks can be adjusted depending on the type of work. Attention deserves a convenient wide start button, made in the form of a "rocker", which is felt even in thick gloves. When pressed, it locks itself into the “on” position, so it does not need to be held during drilling.

Work in hard-to-reach places

Compared to other fenders of this class, the Stanley STHM5KS is quite light - only 5.4 kg. It is convenient for them to ditch the wall for wiring, the ceiling and other structures in a standing position. But working “on the floor” is not entirely convenient, since the dimensions of the hammer are small and you have to stand bent throughout the whole chiselling. Users note that this demolition hammer is especially useful for working in hard-to-reach parts of a construction site, for example, for punching a hole for a pipe in a sewer well or chasing a furrow for a ground strip on a facade.

Design features

Like any other Stanley STHM5KS chipper, it produces quite a strong vibration, which is given to the worker's hand. To reduce vibration impulses, the model has an elastomer handle. However, it dampens vibration rather poorly, so builders recommend using anti-vibration gloves. You can get carbon brushes (graphite barrels for the down conductor) without disassembling the entire structure - just remove the bottom rubber cover. The metal housing of the gearbox effectively removes heat, so that the fender does not overheat during operation. Users also note the good factory lubrication of the piston, so that the revision needs to be done less often.
