Good mid-range stapler

Stanley 6-TRE550 is a versatile tool that combines the functions of a stapler and nailer. It can hammer staples and studs that are used to fasten fabrics, battens, foils and sheet materials to wood substrates. This model is compatible with Type 11 staples (called Type G by Stanley and Type 4 or 140 by some other manufacturers) as well as J size nails.

Advantages and disadvantages

The power of the tool is moderate. It is enough to drive 14 mm staples and 15 mm nails into wooden boards, plywood or MDF. The stapler has an impact force regulator. Although the adjustment wheel rotates 360 degrees, there are really only two positions: full power and low impact for more delicate materials.

The tool is quite comfortable to use and fits well in the hands (despite the absence of any rubber pads on the handle). But users note that the shock force regulator sometimes “walks” freely, and the power cable is harsh. There are complaints about the store. It is slightly shorter than the "strips" of nails and staples, which is why they have to be broken in two when "reloading" the tool. But on the case there is a magazine full indicator.

Assistant for amateur craftsmen

The Stanley 6-TRE550 stapler is suitable for simple work that does not require much power or speed. The perfect option is to use this stapler for hobby projects or small repairs at home or in the country.
