The Smeg dishwasher controls are located on the upper end of the door, like their fully built-in counterparts. But on the front side of the case there is a second display, which displays basic information about the operation of the device: an icon of the running program and its current stage, a countdown or a message about the end of the cycle. This makes the Smeg PL7233TX a representative of the cohort of devices with an open panel.
Abundance of programs and functions
The dishwasher has 10 programs, including five basic washing modes: auto, eco, glass, ultra-clean and pre-rinse. The latter program is activated by default when you select a delay start, which eliminates the formation of persistent, dried stains on the dishes. Thanks to the Quick Time function, five more accelerated modes become available to the user. In auto programs (standard and fast), all settings are performed by the cleanliness sensor.
Other useful features make operation easier, including FlexiZone (even half load), FlexiTabs (tablet wash) and EnerSave. The latter option involves automatically opening the door slightly after washing is completed, which makes drying faster and more economical.
Maximum capacity with reasonable consumption
You can load 13 sets of dishes into the working chamber of the Smeg PL7233TX. Above the height-adjustable top box is a FlexyDuo pull-out tray for cutlery and small cups. An additional third water sprayer is provided for it, which is designed to improve the overall quality of cleaning the dishes placed here.
The energy consumption class of the dishwasher was awarded the highest rating of A+++: per year consumption does not exceed 231 kW (from 0.81 kW per wash). The model is also wasteful in terms of water consumption: from 9 liters per cycle.
The only thing that can hinder the purchase of a model is the high cost of the Smeg PL7233TX. But it fully corresponds to the declared capabilities and, in general, is typical for all built-in appliances of the famous Italian brand.
