Versatile Mid-Range Handsaw
The Skil 4961 AA Reciprocating Saw is a mid-range power tool. It is equipped with a 900W motor, which is sufficient for making cuts up to 200 mm deep in wooden beams and boards used in construction. Additionally, it can be used to cut steel blanks (up to 20 mm in diameter), aluminum (up to 30 mm), other non-ferrous metals, as well as plastic pipes and other polymer products. A suitable blade is required for each type of cut, as the set includes only one saw blade designed for working with wood.
Simple Adjustments and Settings
Rubber inserts on the front part of the body, underneath which is a metal gearbox, and on the rear handle ensure a secure grip on the tool and prevent it from slipping in the hand. The pressure applied to the start button allows for adjusting the saw blade speed—up to 3200 strokes per minute with full pressure, enabling the selection of a suitable mode for different materials. An Allen key (included) is required to adjust the position of the support base, but blade replacement is tool-free. The Clic mechanism allows quick fixing or removal of the blade with a simple twist of the chuck.
Less Vibration — More Work
Professionals who frequently use reciprocating saws know how tiring vibrations can be during prolonged use. This issue is addressed in the Skil 4961 AA model with the VRS anti-vibration system. It includes balancing elements that compensate for vibrations caused by the reciprocating movements of the rod. As a result, the saw's body remains almost still even when operating at maximum speed, reducing strain on the hands and allowing for longer cutting of boards or dismantling of pipes without fatigue.
