After finding out that Shell supplies original oil to VW factories, I started considering their oil and, based on the specs for my engine, settled on this motor oil. I've driven a bit over 4,000 km with it now, and everything is fine. The oil level hasn't dropped, whereas previously, with a different 5W-30 oil, the engine would consume a bit. Here, the level remains consistent. Switched from a cheaper oil to this one because with the previous oil, I noticed some deposits starting to appear in the engine. This oil was recommended as better and it also has an additive package that is supposed to clean up what is there. I've driven about 3000 km on it now, and it seems like the engine looks cleaner.
