Model overview based on user reviews
The Samsung Gear IconX 2018 headphones are designed for active sports enthusiasts, offering a comfortable fit and true wireless convenience. They feature gesture control, built-in memory of 4 GB, and a Type-C charging port. Users appreciate the good sound quality and the ability to use them without a smartphone. However, some users report issues with the volume decreasing over time and problems with the touch controls, which can be frustrating. The headphones are generally well-received for their design and functionality, but the price is considered high by some, especially given the potential for technical issues. Despite these drawbacks, they remain a popular choice for those seeking a wireless and feature-rich audio experience.

Excellent in its form.

Excellent headphones, worth the money for me, but for others it may be very expensive. I've heard people say that I'm wasting my money more than once. I recommend it to anyone who is annoyed by wires, even those from Samsung Level. I don’t know what normal person would listen to music a day for more than 5 hours without the battery dying at an inopportune moment.
Absolutely do not fall out, convenience. design.
There is a function that needs to be enabled only via a smartphone.
Good model, with some flaws

The headphones are quite decent if you don't consider the price. I mostly use them in transport and the gym. In terms of battery life, they last at least 2.5 hours, which has been sufficient for me so far.

The sound quality is about a four out of five, but they have attractive features like gesture control, internal memory (4 GB, mind you), a relatively small case, Type-C charging, and, of course, they're completely wireless.

I use them with an S8 phone, and there is a convenient Galaxy Wearable app where you can adjust the equalizer, transfer files, view fitness tracker data (although it's unclear why it's needed here), and so on.

The set includes 3 pairs of ear tips and different sized rubber inserts for different ear sizes. I easily found the right fit for myself.

I haven't noticed any downsides mentioned by previous commenters yet (it's been 2 months), and the volume level is normal in both earbuds. The only issue is that the signal sometimes cuts out if you keep the phone in your jacket pocket.
Gesture control, good sound, True Wireless convenience

Excellent sound, moisture protection, rich set, easy to connect. And the fitness mode can be adjusted and it will be fine.

Even the opponents of the Korean brand will not be able to argue that Samsung knows how to work on its own mistakes and correct them in the next models.

Everything for comfort

If the first true wireless "ears" of Gear IconX worked on a single charge for only an hour and a half, then in Gear IconX 2018 the battery life indicator was almost tripled. However due to the increased battery life, the headphones have slightly acquired in size, but due to more streamlined shapes, this is almost imperceptible.

The new model is offered in three colour options: black, grey and pink. Interchangeable wings and ear pads in different sizes also come in colour. The earphones sit tight in the ears, but they do not press. An unpleasant surprise was the absence of any sane water protection (splash does not count), and this is for a sports model ...

And for sports

IconX 2018 removed the heart rate monitor, but left the running assistant, controlled through the S Health fitness application, which helps to count calories and steps using the accelerometer. For the convenience of “communication”, voice prompts are implemented in 9 languages, including Russian.

And for the music

A cool feature of Icon X is the presence of built-in memory in the amount of 4 GB, of which 3.4 GB is available. That is, you can download a lot of music and listen without connecting to your phone for 7 hours.

I was pleased with the dense, loud enough sound with good detail, as well as support for the AAC format for the built-in player.

The new case has become smaller and more ergonomic. And you can charge it both from a standard USB cable and USB type C.

Well, of course, Samsung would not be Samsung if it had not implemented touch controls in the wireless headphone model. It is quite advanced here and requires prior familiarization. But, having mastered, you get a wide range of control functionality for the player and headset.

Gear IconX 2018 is a great headphone model for fans of the brand and all lovers of high-quality true wireless at an adequate price. As much as $40 cheaper than Apple AirPods, but they sound better and win in terms of functionality.
