Breakthrough in the power bank market
The Korean flagship continues to amaze with its new products. This time he decided to hit his competitors in the external battery segment and did it very successfully. The EB-PA710 is the first power bank with an exclusive form factor designed for maximum user convenience. When you first get acquainted with the device, it seems that Samsung has put together all the shortcomings inherent in external batteries and safely got rid of them in the new model.
Ergonomic Form Factor
The case has a specific shape, which makes it very convenient to hold the battery in a clenched palm. The power bank is rectangular, but in the upper part it has a slight bend for expansion, which can remind someone of a pistol grip, and someone of a kettle with an elongated spout. The EB-PA710 is assembled, of course, soundly, like all Samsung devices, not from aluminium, but from very high-quality matte plastic, pleasant to the touch, and also in different versions of warm pastel colours: mint blue and coral. A wrist strap is attached to the case for added wearing comfort.
USB cable
Separately, we note the design of the USB cable that comes with the kit. Its length is only 20 cm, which, for sure, will seem small to someone, but that's not the point. The output connector of the cable has a special protrusion-holder to fix the smartphone in a vertical position while charging. A trifle, but pleasant, because now you don’t have to buy a separate stand or a special case for your phone.
Faster than fast
The EB-PA710 is the first power bank with an incredibly high output current: 2.8 amps. It will take less than an hour to fully charge a smartphone with a battery capacity of 2600 mAh (Galaxy S6 edge)! However only one port will charge so quickly, the second one charges a little more slowly, its output current is 2 amperes, as well as the charging port of the battery itself.
The battery fully replenishes its own forces in 6 hours and holds a charge very well if it is not used for a long time. To find out how charged it is, a strip LED indicator located at the end of the case will help. The indication looks very impressive.
LED lamp
Samsung would not be Samsung if it had not come up with some interesting option for the new product. The EB-PA710 has an LED lamp that is mounted on the side panel from the wide side, connected to USB and shines like a beacon in the night very brightly. Moreover, it can shine like this for almost a day and a half (30-35 hours), provided that the power bank was fully charged before that. The disadvantage of using the lamp is that you cannot use the battery for its intended purpose at the same time: the lamp blocks all USB outputs. You can buy the LED-lantern separately, it is not included in the kit with the battery.
