Moms of allergy sufferers will understand me. Let me tell you why I bought expensive equipment. My son is 15 years old. He's had dermatitis and constant conjunctivitis since he was one. We found out it was a dust allergy. Since then, I've been battling windmills.

While it was easy to get rid of dust collectors, wet cleaning twice a day and treating the bed and bedding took years off my life. Clothes and linens were washed at temperatures of 60 or 90 degrees and then thoroughly ironed. It was long and tedious. Ever since we got a robotic vacuum cleaner for wet cleaning and an air washer, I've been racking my brain on how to automate ironing. Unfortunately, it's indispensable. Steam treatment kills saprophytes. I have a steamer, but without me, it won’t steam mountains of clothes.

Six months ago, I read several rave reviews about wonder machines on an allergy forum. One treats clothes with steam before washing, killing dust mites. The second one removes dust from clothes. Each time, the filter traps what would have otherwise ended up in the air—the environment where mites breed. I haven’t regretted their purchase for a single day. I feel like I've been freed from slavery.
Safe clothing and underwear, no dust in the air, I don't iron anything anymore.
