The compact snowplow from the Chinese manufacturer RedVerg RD 24065 is attractive for its ease of operation and affordable price. The model costs just over $ 300, but it fulfills them with honor already in the first snowy season.
Performant and economical
The powerful Zongshen ZS168F engine with a volume of 196 cc for 6.5 horses does an excellent job with large volumes of snow, consuming only 1.7 liters of gasoline per hour. The tank volume of 3.6 liters allows you to work on one gas station up to 2 hours.
The reinforced steel auger easily handles with frozen snow layers, providing a 57 cm wide passage and removing snowdrifts up to 40 cm high. The blades could, of course, be made higher. After a good snowfall you will have to sweat.
The position of the chute for ejection of snow is adjustable horizontally and vertically, providing a mass spreading range of up to 15 m.
Manoeuvrable and reliable
The 7-speed gearbox (5 forward, 2 reverse) provides optimum speed for any conditions. In addition, the model is quite manoeuvrable, thanks to 13-inch wheels with deep tread and a differential lock. The ability to make the wheels independent allows you to get out of the snow trap, turn around in a difficult area.
Protection of the auger against breakage during jamming is guaranteed by shear pins. If the load on the blades is too large or any solid object gets into them, the pins will simply be cut off and the auger will stop rotating, which will protect the mechanism from breakage.
The RedVerg RD 24065 is a fairly nimble and performant small, and most importantly, inexpensive. It won’t take up much space in the garage, but it will help out more than once in the winter.
