Low-cost mechanics with bells and whistles

The Redragon Usas is an interesting mechanical keyboard with custom RGB backlighting, a water-resistant metal and plastic housing, and professional keyboard features like anti-ghosting. However, it attracts the main attention not by this, but by a very tempting price of $50. By the standards of mechanical TLK keyboards, these are mere pennies.

Chinese analogue Cherry MX Blue

But there is one caveat. To somehow reduce the price, instead of expensive Cherry MX switches, Outemu Blue is installed here. And, if you managed to play more than one mechanical keyboard, then expect possible surprises. The fact is that due to their cheapness, Outemu do not differ in constancy, switches of the same colour on the same keyboard can differ among themselves in terms of pressing force, sound and sensations in general (although this is a common problem with many Chinese switches). However, in the test model, Outemu Blue switches felt almost the same as Cherry MX Blue. Well, their durability is questionable. Although, the manufacturer claims a resource of 50 million clicks.

Quality build, functionality and custom RGB lighting

Otherwise, the keyboard turned out to be comfortable and functional, if you don’t know about switches, then the price can be stacked more than 2 times higher. For example, there is an individual RGB backlighting of the keys with zoning, a bunch of different effects, brightness settings directly from the keyboard, quick switching of behavior scenarios and other features. Plus, the bottom and cover of the keyboard are made of anodized aluminium, which pleasantly cools the hand. The keys themselves are made of suitable soft-touch plastic. On the bottom there are two solid rubberized legs, which eliminates accidental sliding of the keyboard on the table. The design is really good, decent materials and nothing more.
