Prestigio RoadRunner 585

The main feature of the Prestigio RoadRunner 585 is the ability to shoot in SuperHD format, i.e. 2304x1296 pixels with Ambarella A7 processing. This gives a high-definition picture at 50-60 metres, although it will be possible to accurately see the numbers of surrounding cars only at 15-20 metres. But there is another important plus of such a resolution — the picture can be artificially enlarged relatively in various editors and get a good image, without large pixels on the whole screen.

There are also features: HDR and WDR. They increase the clarity and contrast of the image by an order of magnitude, especially in limited lighting. Thanks to this, the RoadRunner 585 shows good results when recording at night — the numbers of surrounding cars are clearly visible at a distance of 5 — 10 metres. The advantages include the presence of a G-sensor, a viewing angle of 160 ° (enough for 2 lanes on both sides) and a compact body size.

The registrar is installed on a vacuum suction cup, which is included in the kit. Moreover, the bracket is the same size as the device, i.e. everything is compact and fits easily behind the rear view mirror. The registrar does not attract attention from the street and does not occupy the useful area of the windscreen. The mount rotates 360°, holds securely, and even when driving on a bad road, it does not move from shaking.

Now about the cons of the model. There is a fisheye effect, i.e. to the edges of the screen when viewing the image is rounded. So it falls short of the claimed 160 °. Well, the lack of GPS upsets.
