Power bank in your pocket
The Philips phone is almost as expensive as ultra-low-cost smartphones, but it has several advantages that justify such a price. First of all, a feature of the model is the battery, which by the standards of conventional feature phones is quite capacious — 3100 mAh. It is removable (long live modular devices!) And will provide as much as 39 hours of battery life in talk mode. With normal use, one charge will last up to a week, or even one and a half, so you can forget about charging on short trips. In addition, the device can be used as a Power bank, that is, to charge other gadgets from it. However there is no corresponding USB OTG adapter in the kit, so you will have to take care of purchasing it yourself.
Design and big screen
Otherwise, the handset leaves a good impression: the case combines plastic and metal, the lid fits snugly and does not leave fingerprints, the phone fits comfortably in the hand, and the weight, which is not small by the standards of push-button models, adds to its solidity — 145 g. The screen is large enough — 2.8" with a resolution of 320x240 pixels, the labels on it are large, the text is well read. The brightness is enough to see the picture even in the sun. Auto mode, of course, is not here, but in the settings you can select the desired brightness level. Under the screen is a keyboard with large keys, which are also highlighted, which is convenient in the dark and in the absence of lighting. Menus and controls are simple and intuitive, and the phone book can hold up to a thousand contacts.
The phone received a single 2 MP camera with a flash, which can also be used as a flashlight. There is no separate key for this, but the flashlight can be quickly turned on by simply holding down a certain button. But pleases the presence of two slots for SIM-cards and a separate slot for microSD memory cards up to 32 GB. Of course, you should not expect good pictures from a 2-megapixel camera, but you can quickly capture some text or a sign. Keep in mind that the phone's free memory is catastrophically small, so if you want to store some photos and ringtones, you can't do without a memory card.
Also worth noting is the presence of Bluetooth 3.0, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and vibration, a rather loud speaker, FM radio, a microUSB port for charging and the ability to work only in 2G networks. In general, Philips Xenium E580 will be a good additional device for work, which does not require charging for a long time, supports two SIM-cards and, if necessary, can recharge the main smartphone.
