From the press release:

The ultra-compact ten-megapixel Pentax Km SLR camera is designed to make life easier for its owner: it weighs very little and makes shooting easier than a breeze.

A novice photographer will appreciate the help system built into the camera: by pressing one of the buttons, detailed help for any of the functions will be displayed on the display. The innovative Auto Picture mode selects the most suitable shooting programme for the scene (for example, Portrait, Landscape or Macro). Right in the camera, the picture can be edited using the built-in filter effects.

However, even without filters, the photos taken by Pentax Km turn out to be excellent: a CCD matrix with a resolution of 10.2 megapixels and a powerful PRIME processor (PENTAX Real Image Engine) are responsible for the picture quality. Photos are consistently sharp thanks to the accurate and fast SAFOX VIII focus system with five cross-shaped sensors and the Shake Reduction mechanism. It is built right into the camera and will work with any lens. To ensure that the image quality remains unchanged over time, the camera provides a system to protect the sensor from dust.

Pentax Km is primarily “sharpened” for beginners, but it also has functions inherent in professional technology: in self-timer mode, Km can pre-raise the mirror to reduce vibrations, can calibrate the matrix and display, has the ability to quickly manually adjust shutter speed, aperture and other exposure settings.

In operation, the camera is reliable and unpretentious thanks to a durable body made of reinforced polycarbonate, the use of conventional AA batteries and available SD and SDHC memory cards.
