How to choose RAM?Tips for choosing the optimal RAM parameters that will ensure stable operation and PC performance

One-to-one

Patriot Viper Elite 5 Ultra (model VEU532G6432K) — while Ryzen 7000 CPUs supported DDR5 at up to 6000 MT/s, Ryzen 8000 and 9000 already run at 6400 MT/s. This is achieved in the memory controller’s synchronous “one-to-one” mode, which is why AMD expanded the EXPO auto-overclocking range. As a result, the user is offered four profiles at once: XMP and EXPO, at 6200 and 6400 MT/s.

Cold and dark

Read/write cycle latencies (timings) here are better than standard JEDEC memory at 4800 MT/s — CL32 versus CL40. This is achieved by increasing voltage from 1.1 to 1.4 V, offset by hefty aluminum heatsinks. They can be painted black or adorned with synchronizable RGB lighting.

Handpicked chips

Under the heatsinks are manually selected DRAM chips, a PMIC for two channels, ECC, and memory for storing SDP profiles. In addition to factory presets, you can write your own frequency and timing settings here. Viper Elite 5 Ultra has high overclocking headroom, as confirmed by the availability of kits with frequencies up to 8000 MT/s (supported only by Intel platforms).
