The model with the index HC-VFX990 from the Japanese brand Panasonic is the pinnacle of the evolution of amateur camcorders. It belongs to the top class of amateur video recording devices.
Optics
The high level of the camcorder can be recognized by the optics used in its design — the Leica Dicomar lens is capable of shooting with a 20x optical zoom at maximum f / 1.8-3.6 aperture values. The front lens of the lens supports the installation of filters with a diameter of 49 mm. You can also put a hood on the nose of the camera. More information about this useful accessory is described in the material "What is a lens hood for and how to choose it."
A high resolution
FullHD resolution for premium camcorders is already considered a relic of the past. Panasonic HC-VFX990 records videos in 4K format (3840x2160 pixels), however, with a low frame rate (only 25 fps), due to which it will not be possible to achieve maximum smoothness of the video sequence when shooting dynamic scenes. In addition, for some reason, a number of useful camcorder functions are not available in 4K format: HDR, artistic and special modes, broadcasting images from smartphones connected via Wi-Fi to additional windows on the screen. The full functionality of the camera is revealed when you choose to shoot at a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.
Everything for the operator
Ergonomics of the camcorder turned out to be extremely convenient: the camcorder fits in any hand like a glove, when shooting, the operator can view through an inclined viewfinder, and a cold shoe (without sync contacts) is provided for installing additional equipment on the body of the model. Questions are raised only by a useless place near the screen, inherited from the Twin-camera on board the Panasonic HC-WX970.
Hybrid stabilization
The camera is equipped with a hybrid image stabilization system — in the case when the optical stub can not cope, software vibration compensation algorithms come to the rescue. Such a developed system is able to completely replace mechanical devices for image stabilization (steadicams, tripods, etc.). Naturally, with such data, a video camera a priori cannot cost a little money. But it’s not at all a pity to give your hard-earned money for it, because in return it offers remarkable features in video filming.
