Panasonic HC-VXF1

The portfolio of the Japanese company Panasonic was replenished in 2018 with a trinity of amateur video cameras. The most technically savvy of them was the HC-VXF1 model.

Premium Roots

The camera is based on a back-illuminated CMOS sensor (8.57 MP). The image sensor is mounted on a movable stabilizing platform with a hinged base (Ball OIS). The stub compensates for the shaking of the operator's hands and the camera's movement up and down, left and right, and also around its own axis. The premium roots of the device in the appendage are issued by Leica Dicomar optics with a set of equivalent focal lengths of 25-600 mm and a “floating” f / 1.8-4 aperture.

4K video

As for video shooting, its camera produces a maximum resolution of 4K (3840x2160 pixels) with high frame rates (50 fps) and bit rates (up to 72 Mbps). In parallel with the video sequence, Dolby Digital 5.1 multi-channel audio is recorded. The stub put into service changes the algorithms depending on the current conditions of the shooting process, and the operator will also have the option of auto-leveling the horizon very handy.

A scattering of buttons

On the "carcass" of the video camera, you can see a whole scattering of all kinds of keys, including customizable to user preferences. However, they are scattered randomly, which sometimes causes certain difficulties. Also, the focus wheel around the front lens leaves a double impression — you need to get used to its use.
