OnePlus Pad 128 GB
Videos 6Photos 25 |
The debut tablet from OnePlus turned out to be very competitive. The model immediately broke into the confident medium segment of tablet computers and firmly established itself in it. The first thing that attracts attention is the large screen of the device with diagonal dimensions of 11.61 inches and atypical proportions of 7:5 - the picture on the IPS panel is displayed in a frame resolution of 2800x2000 pixels.
At the same time, it has a “game” refresh rate of 144 Hz. The OnePlus Pad 128GB can handle games and resource-intensive applications thanks to the powerful hardware of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal data storage (UFS 3.1 standard). The model has an on-board gyroscope, a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera, and a quartet of stereo speakers. The tablet's connection to the World Wide Web is maintained via a Wi-Fi network. A capacious 9610 mAh battery with a 67 W fast wired charging function is responsible for the autonomous operation of the device. The energy reserves in its cells can be completely restored in about 80 minutes.

The first tablet from OnePlus
The OnePlus Pad was the debut model of OnePlus in the tablet segment, previously known mainly for its smartphones. The first experience was successful: the device competes with Samsung and Apple. The tablet body is made of durable metal, the thickness is just over 6.5 mm, and the weight is only 555 g. This makes it an excellent choice for those who often take the tablet on trips, to work or meetings. In addition, you can purchase the OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard case and the OnePlus Stylo stylus, turning the tablet into a full-fledged working tool. However, there are some drawbacks in the external design. Firstly, the camera on the back panel takes up too much space - for a 13 MP sensor, this is unnecessary. Secondly, only one color is available - green, which looks attractive, but I would like more options.
The front panel features an 11.61-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2800 x 2000 pixels and 500 nits of brightness. This is sufficient for indoor use, but not enough for bright sunlight. The screen supports Dolby Vision HDR and has a refresh rate of 144 Hz, providing smooth scrolling and rich colors. An interesting solution is the 7:5 aspect ratio, called ReadFit by the manufacturer, which makes the tablet more square, which is convenient for reading and surfing the Internet. However, when watching videos, wide black bars may appear on the sides.
For work and entertainment
Inside, there’s a Dimensity 9000 processor, which while not the latest (launched in late 2021), competes well with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It’s a powerful chip that, when paired with 8GB of RAM, handles multitasking and heavy apps and games with ease. The manufacturer claims that the OnePlus Pad can run 18 apps in the background. However, there’s only one version available with 128GB of storage, and there’s no memory card slot, limiting your options.
For communication and data transfer, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 are provided, as well as one USB-C port. The tablet is equipped with 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a GPS module and an 8 MP front camera, which is used not only for video calls but also for face recognition. However, as in the case of the lack of a fingerprint scanner, this is not an ideal solution.
Autonomy and fast charging
The 9510 mAh battery provides long battery life, allowing you to use the tablet all day or more – for example, when watching videos continuously, the battery life reaches more than 12 hours. Thanks to 67 W SUPERVOOC fast charging, the battery is fully charged in just 80 minutes, and in standby mode, the tablet can remain charged for a month.
So OnePlus has entered the tablet market with a solid and versatile tablet that's good for work, play, and entertainment, though there's room for improvement. In the future, we'd like to see more color options and storage options, as well as a fingerprint scanner for added usability.
