The National Geographic 76/700 AZ small reflector design telescope is addressed to the teenage audience and amateur astronomers. It is an easy-to-use model for terrestrial and celestial observations.

Newton's system

A simple and popular Newton's reflex scheme has found application in the telescope, which involves a combination of a concave main mirror with an additional flat one that reflects the image into the eyepiece. The model is equipped with purely glass optical elements with a special multi-layer coating to ensure greater image clarity.

visual observations

The telescope objective diameter is 76 mm, its aperture ratio is 1/9.2. With these parameters, the model is well suited for visual observations of astronomical objects at different magnifications. Through a telescope, you can see craters on the Moon, cloud belts on Jupiter, Saturn's rings, bright star clusters, nebulae and galaxies. For observations of terrestrial objects in a non-inverted orientation, the device must be completed with the appropriate accessories.

Azimuthal mount

The model is equipped with an easy-to-use azimuthal mount. It has a vertical and horizontal axis of rotation and allows you to quickly point the telescope to the desired point in the sky. But you can’t call a standard tripod a helluva lot of stability — when using eyepieces with a large magnification factor, its vibrations make themselves felt. Also, this type of mount is of little use for astrophotography. Nevertheless, the telescope fulfills its cost in full.
