They are part of the Katana gaming line, which Taiwanese manufacturer MSI launched in 2021 as an alternative to its more expensive gaming solutions. In the hierarchy of the company, these laptops are lower than the flagship MSI GP Leopard models and slightly inferior to the capabilities of MSI Pulse GL laptops.

MSI Katana GF66 12UE is based on 8/10-core Intel Core i5/i7 (12th generation, Alder Lake architecture) processor, which shows impressive power efficiency, high IPC, multi-threading and automatic overclocking.

It is complemented by 8/16 GB of DDR4 RAM and an M.2 SSD with a capacity of 512 to 1024 GB. Due to the additional slots, the user can independently add one RAM module or install a second M.2 SSD. The GeForce RTX 3060 video card, which is part of the NVIDIA Ampere family, is responsible for processing three-dimensional graphics in games, it supports hardware ray tracing and DLSS.

Thanks to this laptop, Katana is quite capable of replacing a modern gaming computer focused on Full HD resolution and medium graphics settings. Iron is controlled by a proprietary cooling system with 6 heat pipes and separate thermal modules for cooling the CPU and GPU.
