For born tankers

In one of the last episodes of the second season of Rick and Morty, an intergalactic council of Rick scientists argued over who was the most "Ricked" Rick of all. If we transfer this debate to the plane of gaming laptops and ask: “Which one is the most gaming one?”, The fingers of the audience will turn towards the MSI GP62 8RD World of Tanks Edition.

And there are five reasons for this. It has a powerful filling, which is enough for a comfortable game at high settings in almost any modern game. It has an aggressive design typical of gaming laptops with beveled body lines and a catchy radiator grille. The keyboard is not just backlit, but with RGB backlighting, which can be customized in a special application. And, finally, the laptop case is painted in the style of one of the main games of our time, World Of Tanks.

Powerful iron

As mentioned above, the MSI GP62 8RD is stuffed in such a way that there is no shame. The laptop is powered by the latest generation Intel Coffee Lake 6-core Core i7 processor, which runs at 4.1 GHz and boasts 9 MB of L3 cache. The stock of DDR4 RAM is 8 GB, due to the additional slot it can be increased up to 32 GB. The HDD with a capacity of 1000 GB acts as a hard disk, which, if necessary, can be replaced with a faster SSD disk (LINK). Responsible for video processing is an improved version of the terribly popular Nvidia GTX 1050 chip with the Ti index.

The main point of contention for the MSI GP62 8RD is its screen. Instead of the standard IPS screen for a laptop of this class, here we see a TN + film class matrix, which is usually used in inexpensive laptops. No doubt, by the standards of TN + film, the screen is bright and excellent, but there is no way to fix family diseases like small viewing angles or lousy colour reproduction. These are the features of the technology. Why MSI made such a decision is a mystery to us.

Equipment

Well, the battery is a little let down. The maximum operating time of the laptop was only 3 hours, and the minimum was an hour. Most competing laptops manage to last an hour or two longer when browsing over Wi-Fi. It looks like the laptop is suffering from unnecessarily high power consumption.

4 built-in speakers

This is where the negative ends and we return to the positives. Unlike most gaming laptops, the MSI GP62 8RD has not 2, but 4 speakers, which are capable of developing a sufficiently high volume without distortion. They yell really loudly and in which case they can adequately replace standard desktop speakers.

A slight inconvenience associated with buying this model is that there is no pre-installed operating system on board, so you will have to install Windows manually.
