The Climate 60 speaker system from Monitor Audio is a modernized classic that combines the elegance of British tradition with innovation that delivers true Hi-Fi sound.
Materials and installation features
The monitor with dimensions of 32.5x18.5x17.8 cm has a strict rectangular shape, is offered in white or black, looks solid and harmonizes with any modern appliances, furniture, wall decoration. The hermetic housing made of durable polypropylene shows high resistance to aggressive environments and UV radiation. The protective grill made of aluminium is practically not subject to aging and can be painted in any colour. The original solution looks like a rotary logo, which is displayed correctly in any monitor orientation.
The system has a wide range of mounting options. A powerful metal bracket allows you to rotate the loudspeaker horizontally and vertically by 175º. The protection for the compartment with connectors is also thought out, which is implemented in the form of a cover with magnets, and the anchor hook protects against accidental falls and theft. Everything is reliable and stable, despite the decent weight of one column of 4.6 kg.
"Hardware" to match
The musical component did not let us down either. Responsible for the quality of reproduction are a pair of branded radiators — an inch tweeter and a 165 mm midbass with a cone made of the patented C-CAM composite. In addition, an elliptical ABR passive radiator is installed on the rear wall of the cabinet, which expands the reproducible bass range and effectively dampens driver oscillations.
A solid case and high-quality components allow the device to pump sound up to 200 W (100 per channel), while the high ones work out very clearly and brightly, without unnecessary overtones, the middle ones sound wide and comfortable, the voice is devoid of plasticity, and the low ones are perfectly balanced and do not fall off in a heap even at high volume. In general, the sound can be compared with good mid-range bookshelves, and this is practically Hi-Fi.
The only thing that the system did not please was the cost. Here it is over $700 for a pair. Expensive. Even for British quality.
